Zare Lazarevski Ski Resort in Mavrovo, FYROM

Varianos Travel offered ski holiday packages to Mavrovo for the first time during the 2006-2007 ski season.  Following the favorable comments from our customers we will also be offering ski packages for the 2007-2008 season.   Prices and details are available upon request.  The Mavrovo ski resort located in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, is a lakeside resort and we feel a skiing holiday there will please most of our snow loving customers.  Set in the beautiful Mavrovo National Park this is a medium size ski resort belonging to a private operator.  Distance from Thessalonica is 330 Km and driving time should be a little over four hours.  Contact us to give you an idea of what packages we can offer our fellow skiers for a skiing holiday to Mavrovo.

The Mavrovo Ski Area:

The Mavrovo Ski Center is an interesting and highly enjoyable ski resort.  Its three chairlifts start from the doorstep of the area's hotels at an elevation of 1255 meters above sea level.  Eleven more drag lifts bring the resorts capacity to a respectable 10.000 skiers an hour.  The highest T-bar lift tops at 1860 meters.  Large parts of the resort are well protected from high winds, with the ski resort staying closed due to weather conditions only twice during the 2006 winter.  The very well groomed pistes offer easy learning grounds to beginners and the easy access to off piste skiing gives advanced skiers a wonderful playground.  Snowboarders should also enjoy making tricks at the purpose built half pipe and rail.  Night skiing is also available at selected dates.  To get a better understanding of the ski resort check out the map of the ski area.

For the 2008 ski season we are offering the same options as for the 2008 ski season.

Hotel Bistra. Four star hotel in Mavrovo with good recreation facilities including a heated indoor swimming pool.

Hotel Sport (ex Hotel Mavrovki). Recently renovated (2006) offering affordable accommodation in the Mavrovo ski area.  Residents have access to Hotel Bistra's facilities.

Hotel Lodge (ex Hotel Ski Skola). Small but stylish hotel right on the ski lift in Mavrovo ski center.  Residents have access to Hotel Bistra's facilities.
